Be Seated

And
[God] hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places
in
Christ Jesus
~
Ephesians 2:6 ~
A seat
is a place of rest. When we sit in a chair, we put trust in that chair that it
can
support
all of our weight for as long as we sit in it. We do not expect that the chair
will only hold up part
of our weight and that we somehow will have to bear the restof the
load ourselves. No, we trust the chair can bear the entire amount by itself.
Likewise,
when we are seated in Christ Jesus, we place all of our trust in Him, that
no
matter what is going on within us, no matter how heavy the load on our minds
and
hearts, no matter the difficulties we seem to have, Jesus is more than capable
of
upholding us and causing us to more clearly understand our real need in life.
This is
the place of rest that our souls hunger for and greatly need.
Jesus
says, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give
you
rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in
heart:
and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is
light
(Matt 11:28-30).
And
being fully persuaded that, what he [The Lord our God] had promised, he was
able
also to perform (Romans 4:21).
Come to
Christ, learn of Him, and when we are fully persuaded that all God
promised
in Christ Jesus is ours by grace through faith and are truly seated in Him,
we will
have rest for our souls.
