PROGRESSIVISM

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool (Isa 1:18).

We have gotten much spiritual mileage out of the above verse, painting our sins as flaming scarlet and the deepest crimson, deserving hell fire for sure, but then turning them white as snow: forgiven and washed away by the Word of God.  Good mileage.  Good preaching for sure.  But I wonder if the verse could not just as well refer to
