JUST A FEW QUESTIONS

I have heard from the days of my Christian youth that Jesus could come at any minute and carry us all to heaven.  And, when we are all safe and sound, every unbeliever that is left behind would be destroyed.  I have watched over time many of the faithful saints write a book and set the date for that event and then write another book resetting the date
when Jesus didn’t keep their schedule.  This is year 2018 A.D.  Could we be missing something here?

If all I have heard about this “rapture” is true, then I need some help with a few scriptures.  If Jesus may come at any minute, then what does the following passage mean?

Ps 110:1 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

And, what does the repeat of the above passage in these addresses below mean?
Matt 22:42-45; Mark 12:35-36; Luke 20:41-44; Acts 2:32-35; 1 Cor 15:22-26; Heb 1:13;
Heb 10:12-13

And, maybe you can help me to understand the passage below in the light of Jesus’ “any minute” appearing:
Acts 3:20-21
20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

Now, “any minute” certainly implies that the present condition of the church need not change before Jesus appears in the clouds.  If this is true, what do these passages below mean?
Eph 5:25-27
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word
[Accomplished by the bride in her application of His Word]
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Rev 19:7
7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready [Could this mean that there may be a little something for us to do in preparation for His appearing and that He might not appear till we have done it?].

1 John 3:1-3
3 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Now, what about that destruction of the unbeliever?  I have heard it said that after Jesus has rescued us, the rest of humanity will be destroyed and God will create a new heaven and a new earth (Wonder why He would create a new earth if we are to be forever in our new mansion in the new heaven where we are said to live forever, and, wonder why He would destroy the heathen – the gentile nations - if the heathen is to be a part of His inheritance, and also our inheritance if we are to be joint heirs with Him?).

Matt 5:5
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Rom 8:16-17
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Ps 2:8-12
8 Ask of me [God the Father speaking], and I shall give thee [Jesus the Son receiving] the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

Maybe this is what that means?
Rev 11:15
15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever [In this world?].

Now, if the meek are to inherit the earth, won’t that separate us from God who is in heaven?  I thought we were to be with Him in heaven forever.
Rev 21:1-3
21 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

So, help me, please.  Are we going to heaven to live with God or is God coming down to earth to dwell with us?

And, if it is true that no non-redeemed humans will be in existence in that new earth, what does this passage mean?
Rev 22:12-15
12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city [The New Jerusalem, the city (also called the tabernacle of God: Rev 21:2-3) that John saw descending upon the earth (Rev 21:2), which city is the Bride who will not inherit heaven but the earth (Rev 21:9; Matt 5:5) as an heir of God and a joint heir with Christ (Ps 2:8; Rev 8:16-21), and which will become at that time the dwelling place, the tabernacle of God Himself (Exodus 25:8-9; Rev 21:2-3)].
15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

I suppose I am just full of questions and you may think I am full of much more than that.  However, I do believe that God doesn’t mind my asking.  Hope you don’t either.  Anyhow, I do have a few more questions and I am sure there must be good “logical” explanations for them:
1/If God is coming to the earth to live with me, and, according to the Scriptures He certainly seems to be so, why do I want to go to heaven to live?
2/If all sinners have been destroyed and there won’t be any sinners in the new creation, who are these dogs, sorcerers, whoremongers, murderers, idolaters, and those that love and make a lie that are living outside the gates of my city on my new earth?
3/Are all the events of this Book of Revelation yet in our future or do they all in symbolic language define the present state of the believer and the corporate church in the earth?
4/Could the answer to question #3 be, “YES!!!???”
