FREEDOM
JULY 5, 2026
Yesterday we celebrated 250
years of American Independence: July 4, 1776 – July 4 2026. Thank God for our natural forefathers: for
their winning and bequeathing to us our national civil liberties.
Every day of every year
for 2,000 plus years we Christians have celebrated our freedom from the Law of
Sin and Death [Rom 8:1-2 below].
Thank God for the Lord Jesus Christ and His winning and bequeathing to us
our universal spiritual liberties
NT
VERB FORM OF
FREE:
Strongs Concordance: eleutheroō el-yoo-ther-o'-o From
G1658; (Verb) to liberate,
that is, (figuratively) to exempt (from moral, ceremonial or mortal
liability): - Translated: deliver, make free.
These seven passages appear here in the order of their
appearance in the Bible. They
progressively detail our way to the liberty wherewith Christ makes us free, as
well as to the final liberating of all creation from the bondage of corruption:
Jn 8:31-32 Then said Jesus to those Jews
which believed on him, then are ye my disciples
indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make
you FREE.
Jn 8:36 If the Son [His being the Way, the Truth and the
Life (Jn 14:6)] therefore shall make you FREE, ye shall be free
[Noun] indeed.
Rom 6:17-18 But God be thanked, that ye were
the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the
heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. 18 Being
then made FREE from sin, ye became the servants
of righteousness.
Rom 6:22 But
now being made FREE from sin, and become servants to God,
ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end
everlasting life.
Rom 8:1-2 There is therefore now no
condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not
after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law
of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me FREE
from the law of sin and death.
Rom 8:14-21 For
as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear;
but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry,
Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our
spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then
heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we
suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18 For
I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to
be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature [Greek: Strongs:
ktis'-is - From G2936; original formation] waiteth
for the manifestation of the sons of God. 20 For the
creature [Greek: ktis'-is – Strongs: From G2936; original formation] was made subject to vanity, not
willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the
same in hope, 21 Because the creature itself also shall
be DELIVERED [Same Greek word as “FREE”] from the bondage
of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
Gal 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the
liberty wherewith Christ hath made us FREE, and be not
entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Thank you, Father, for our freedom through Christ from the sin and
death that held us captive. Help us that
we might also apply this last verse to our civil responsibilities concerning our
natural “Land of the Free.” God bless
America, and, thanks always to our Heavenly Father for our FREEDOM, both spiritually
and civilly.
