THAT WE MIGHT RECOGNIZE HIM
AS HE IS

As the Agent of creation by Him we all exist (Col 1:16-17)
As the Son of God He is the preexistent Son that was given (Isa 9:6).  He blessed us, chose us, predestinated us and accepted us in Himself before the foundation of the world (Eph 1:3-6)
As the Son of Man He is the Child that was born to us (Isa 9:6; Luke 2:11), grew to manhood under His earthly parents (Luke 2:42-52; Matt 1:20); Luke 3:23), was
crucified, dead and buried, but rose again the third day and is ascended to the right hand of God, crowned, seated and ever living to make intercession for us, His children, His brethren and His friends.  He is the Pattern in the heavens of “many sons unto glory” (Heb 2:9-13), till the time appointed of His Father when He shall return to us, bringing with Him those who sleep in Him and lifting those alive and remaining in the earth to ever to be with Himself, thereby gathering the whole family named for Him in heaven and earth as the Holy City of God enjoying a state of eternal reunion (1Thess 4:13-18; Eph 3:14-15; Rev 21:1-7)
As Jesus Christ He is the Child that was born and the Son that was given unto us in Singular Oneness (Isa 9:6) and He is the Savior of world (1 Jn 4:14)
As the Seed of David He is the Lion, the King of Matthew (Ezek 1:10; Matt 2:1-2)
As the Seed of Abraham He is the Ox, the Suffering Servant in Mark (Ezek 1:10; Heb 2:16; Phil 2:2-8)
As the Seed of the woman He is the Promised Man child revealed in Luke (Ezek 1:10; Luke 2:7; Gen 3:15; Gal 4:4; Rev 12)
As the Seed of God He is the Eagle of John’s Gospel (Ezek 1:10; Psalm 103:1-5; Rev 4:6-7)
As the Lamb of God He met every demand of the Law of Sin and Death, thereby fulfilling, completing and closing the volume of the Old Testament with His Life’s account as recorded in the Synoptic Gospels, Matthew, Mark and Luke (Heb 10:5-10), therewith bringing the Old Testament’s full number to 42 Books (Bible number of the Lord’s advent).
As Lord of Creation, He offers the New Testament, a new beginning, a new creation to all who would willingly live now under the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus (Rom 8:2).  The Book of John is the Genesis of this New Testament (2 Cor 5:16-21). The Old Testament was completed upon the death, burial, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ, the Son of Man, as recorded in the Synoptic Gospels. John’s Gospel is an account of Christ Jesus, the eternal Son of God, the very Word of God Himself.  John’s “In the Beginning was the Word” opens the New Testament for the new creation man (2 Cor 5:14-21; Gal 6:15; Eph 2:10), which Testament is a volume of 24 Books, the number 24 being the Bible number of Priesthood (66 total Bible Books minus 42 OT Books; Refer to “As the Lamb of God” above)
As Flesh and Blood He destroyed him that had the power of death, that is, the devil (Heb 2:14-15)
As our Sacrifice He offered Himself for our justification from sin and wrath (Rom 5:8-10)
As the Risen Lord and King He will reign till the last enemy is put under His feet (1 Cor 15:25-26)
As the Ascended Lord and King He gave gifts of ministry to us (Eph 4:10-16)
As a Priest forever after the order of Melchizedek He is seated at the right hand of God (Heb 5:1-10; Heb 10:11-13)
As our Great High Priest He is touched with the feeling of our infirmities (Heb 4:14-16)
As our Intercessor He ever lives to do just that: He intercedes for us (Heb 7:24-25)
As the Word of God He is our Father, for by Him, the Incorruptible Word of God, we are born again and He declares of us: “Behold I and the children which God hath given me.”
(1 Pet 1:23; Heb 2:13)
As our Brother He sets us apart to our Father’s service, making us as one with Himself and is not ashamed to call us brethren (Heb 2:10-13)
As our Emancipator He frees us from the Law of sin and death (Rom 8:1-4)
As our Mediator He is our Advocate and our Propitiation (1Tim2:1-6; 1Jn 2:1-2)
As the Child born and the Son given He is the Prince of Peace and the increase of His government and peace shall never end (Isa 9:6-7)
As Christ in us He is our glorious hope (Col 1:27-28)
As the Captain of our salvation He brings many sons unto glory (Heb 2:9-10)
As the Holy Ghost He is to us:

1/ God’s Gift (Acts 2:38)
2/ Our Comforter (Joh 14:16-17; Joh 14:26; Joh 15:26; Joh 16:7)
3/ The Spirit of Adoption (Rom 8:15-17; Rom 8:22-23; Gal 4:6)
4/ Our Teacher (Joh 14:26)
5/ Our Seal (2Co 1:22; Eph 1:13-14; Eph 4:30)
6/ The Earnest of our inheritance (2Co 1:22; 2Co 5:5; Eph 1:12-14)
7/ Our Guide into all truth (Joh 16:13)
8/ The Spirit of Prophecy (John 16:13; Acts 2:17; Rev 19:10; Jn 15:26)
9/ Our Unction, our Anointing, our Teacher within us (1Jn 2:20; 1Jn 2:27)
10/The Revealer of things prepared of God for us (1Cor 2:9-13)
11/The One who Reproves the world of sin (Joh 16:7-11)

As the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God and the Son of man reunited as Sovereign Lord, He will again appear in the clouds just as He was seen in His leaving, bringing the whole family named for Him in heaven and in earth into reunion, all who believe and receive Him joined eternally with Him together as the Family and as the Holy City of the Living God.
As our Friend, He is all of the above and more to us because He loves us.  He will never leave us or forsake us; He is our Helper (Heb 13:5-6), loving us even when we fail.  He has committed His every effort to our well-being and has made available to us the knowledge He has of our Heavenly Father.  All He asks of us as His friends is that we love one another as He has loved us.  May it be said of us as it is of Him, “What a Friend”.

John 15:12-17
12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you [Vs 12 is His Great Commandment].
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.

1 John 4:15-17
15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
